Simplifying Scribe: Removing Departments

At Scribe, we're always pursuing simplicity. Our mission is to help you set up your account, add teammates, and manage company email signatures as fast and efficiently as possible—saving you time and eliminating email signature consistency from your to-do list.

Most of the time, simplicity means removing rather than adding. Since Scribe's creation, we've always focused on mastering a few core features rather than expanding broadly. To abstract away the complexity of email signature management while handling all edge cases, making it fast and delightful to maintain brand consistency across your company email signatures.

Removing the department layer is another step toward this goal. We centralized everything at the signature templates level. By doing this, we made Scribe's logic more intuitive while reducing the number of clicks needed for any action.

• Multiple signatures per teammate are now available! Teammates can now be assigned to several signature templates simultaneously, allowing them to use different signatures as needed.

1. Canva integration

Design banners and logos in Canva and import PNG, JPEG and GIF directly in your Scribe signature.

One-click integration it’s that easy.

• Go to the Scribe signature editor.

• Click on an image of your signature or drag an image block onto the canvas.

• Click on “Import from Canva.” in the image panel on the right side.

2. Signature Variants

We heard you! You can finally create different signature variants for one template for each of your departments. For example, you can have different signatures for Internal emails or Reply emails.

Based on your use case, Scribe will automatically display the correct signature when composing an email. Teammates can also choose between different signatures manually.

Signature variants are now live. Nothing to do on your side to access the feature.

Note that this option is technically only available for Outlook users, Gmail does not offer that option.

3. Redesign of the add-in installation flow

We redesigned the installation flow for when you install the Google and Microsoft apps so it’s faster and easier to understand.

4. HTTP redirects to https for custom domains

Ensure secure connections by automatically redirecting HTTP traffic to HTTPS for custom domains. This feature enhances security and user trust by enforcing encrypted connections across your website.

5. Folder in signature template

The “create folder” option has been added in the signatures template tab so you can organize your templates per group.

6. Line height option

To give you even more flexibility in the design of your signature you can change the line height between each text element by selecting it.

7. Aircall integration

Sync your teammate’s phone numbers from Aircall directly into their Scribe signatures.

8. Chili Piper integration

Sync your teammate’s calendar link from Chili Piper directly into their Scribe signatures.

Bug fixing and maintenance

As usual, we fixed several bugs to keep your experience as smooth as possible.

1. Calendly integration

Auto-fill your teammate's Scribe signatures with their respective calendars by using our Calendly integration. For example, each of your teammates can have their Calendly link in the "Book a demo" button of their Scribe signature. Learn more in our help center.

2 . Signature on Outlook mobile

Thanks to a recent update from Microsoft, you can now seamlessly integrate your Scribe signature into your Outlook mobile app (iOS/Android) with just one click.

The great news? There’s nothing more you need to do! If you have already installed the Scribe add-in for Microsoft 365, your Scribe signatures will automatically appear in your Outlook mobile app.

3. Teammates attributes in Marketing campaign

To further refine your targeting when scheduling a campaign, we have added teammate attributes as a new filter option, alongside department. This allows you to target specific teammates for your campaigns with greater precision.

4. Installation status

We have introduced new statuses in the installation column for your department, making it easier for you to understand why a signature has not been installed and how to resolve the issue. Each message is tailored to your specific use case to guide you toward the solution.

5. New help center

We rebuilt from scratch our help center to make it easier and faster for you to find information.

We added more demo videos for different use cases as well. Available in light and dark mode ;)

6. Signature editor improvements

To enhance readability, we've updated the color scheme of various elements within the signature editor, increasing contrast to facilitate quicker navigation.

Additionally, we have relocated the panel for editing element designs to the right side, significantly reducing the number of clicks needed to adjust your settings. Stay tuned for more updates to the editor.

7. Miscellaneous

• Assignment rules → we added a search in the department dropdown for when you have a big list.
